Wildlife Habitat

Anyone who has visited a State Forests knows they provide a variety of habitats for aquatic and terrestrial wildlife. State forests are some of the best places in the state to hunt, fish and bird watch. To help keep it that way, state forestland (indeed all forestland in Oregon) is managed under some of the most rigorous environmental protection standards in the world.

The Oregon Forest Practices Act ensures sensitive habits and water quality are protected.  Threatened and endangered species also get special protections under the state and federal laws.
